I have worked with adults throughout Pennsylvania across various age groups and with diverse life experiences. I have extensive expertise in working with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Many of my clients have come to therapy to work on addressing:
Stress related to work, relationship, and life transitions
Challenges with lacking motivation and maladaptive avoidance behaviors
Distressing emotions and negative intrusive thoughts associated with past trauma
Problematic relationships with alcohol/drug use
Perfectionism
Issues with sleep functioning

The structure and focus of each therapy session will differ depending on the target issues that are worked on and the therapeutic modality used. The first 1-2 sessions will focus on getting to know a client’s background and clarifying their motivations and goals for pursuing therapy. Following this, sessions will generally be structured to include:
A brief check-in on the client’s mood and any important updates
Identifying a problem/challenge area to focus on during the session
Implementation of an intervention to address the issue
If applicable, assignment of therapeutic homework to work on between sessions
A short debrief to discuss client reflections and feedback about the session
I welcome feedback from clients as I believe that we are doing the best work when the clients’ needs are being met. I also often assign therapeutic homework as I believe that change is a process that is practiced, rather than something that we land on. Practicing new behaviors outside of session enables clients to transform learned coping skills from information to a felt experience.

Once beginning services, you will be connected to an online client portal which will enable you to view your current payment balance, save a payment method (debit card, credit card, HAS account, or ACH bank transfer), and make all session payments directly through the portal. Following each session, an electronic invoice will be emailed to you for your records. On a monthly basis, a superbill will also be provided to you to enable receipt of out-of-network reimbursement benefits by your health insurance provider if applicable. I am glad to provide any other documentation to support out-of-network reimbursement claims.

If unsure, contact your health insurance’s member services/customer support line and ask the following questions:
“What are my out-of-network mental health benefits for outpatient psychotherapy?”
“What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met so far this year?”
“What is your allowed amount or usual and customary rate (UCR) for CPT code 90837 (53+ minute individual therapy session)?”
“What is my co-insurance percentage for out-of-network services (i.e., does my plan reimburse 60%, 70%, or 80% of the allowed amount)?”
